On 5-9 June 2019, the Tampere Vocal Music Festival brings together some 2,000 singers from all over the world. The energising Contest for Vocal Ensembles occupies the Small Auditorium at Tampere Hall, while dozens of choirs bring their colourful programmes to the International Chorus Review in the Main Auditorium. Topping it all off is a series of excellent concerts in the evenings, and there are also a number of free concerts around the city and at the Choir Market in the foyer at Tampere Hall. Choral conductors and singers alike are also invited to attend any of the several interesting workshops and courses available.

The artistic director of the 2019 festival is Tuukka Haapaniemi.
